Janet O’Shea is a professor of dance studies in the department of World Arts and Cultures/Dance at the University of California Los Angeles and an expert on the relationship between performance, sport and the politics of everyday life. O’Shea’s most recent research focuses on the individual and societal benefits of physical play through the example of martial arts.
